August by L-Spiro August by L-Spiro
This is August, a friend of mine here in Bangkok who makes commercials for lots of companies around the country.

Well I finally finished this. It only took 6 months?

This was done on the old paper. You can see the graininess. Also the total size is really really small.
This is about a 4×4 drawing area or so.

Pencils: 4H-6B.
Paper: Sketching Paper.
No Smudging.

L. Spiro

Photorealistic! But you know that, haha. What I really like about this one is how you put in that texture, I assume from the original photograph, that makes it look to old and crinkly and whatnot. Haha, unless that is just the paper you used. Either way it is a nice effect.

I'm not sure if I could work on a piece that small! :D It reminds me of a really old photo to tell you the truth, and I think most would like that fact. It's a very nice drawing. Great work. :D

I really really like the color/texture of the aged paper under the drawing. Of course the drawing itself is excellent!

That's crazy! Crazy!! :omfg: It is very hard to believe that's really a drawing. I don't know whether or not you intended the grainy photo look, but it works, totally!

Beautiful details and brilliant tonal contrast. Maybe you should make the scan greyscale, to accurately reflect the use of pencil?

Amazing detail and shading. The quality isn't as good as I'd like it to be but the drawing itself is simply awesome. It's incredible what ammount of detail you managed to put in such small space :faint:

I'm astounded that this much detail can be put into such a small drawing! It looks great! I might double check the distance between the eyes, it seems a bit much - but some people do have wide-set eyes, so that may not be an issue. The only other thing that stands out to me is the highlight on her right eye. It's the lightest highlight in the picture, so I might pat out a tiny bit more of the highlights in a couple of other places, maybe the cheeks, nose, or chin, just to make it seem a bit more balanced.
