Panda 3 WIP 4

Not everyone keeps up with all the works in progress (especially given my lack of popularity) so I will recover some things.

This is Panda, a 23-year-old friend of mine here in Bangkok.
This will probably be my last drawing of her since I think people like to see more variety in the content.

The previous two Panda portraits were done on very rough and grainy paper to which the pencils didn’t stick well and, even more, didn’t erase well.
I got burned out not being able to put the detail I wanted and being afraid to draw dark due to the inability to erase.
I purchased new smoother paper and a kneedable eraser.
It picks up the pencil wonderfully and erases perfectly. I am no longer timid about drawing dark and adding the high contrast people wanted to see in my previous portraits.


Since the last post, I redid the hair on the top completely, erasing it and starting over.
I added a bit more to the headband and filled in the dark panda ears on it.
I filled in the surrounding hair roughly and am currently working on this area.



As always, no smudging has been done in any part of the picture.
Time so Far: ~40 hours.
Pencils: 4H-3B.
Eraser: Kneeded.
Paper: Something smooth and white.
Completion: 48%
